In his complaint, filed in New Mexico without the assistance of lawyers, the plaintiff alleges that Alec Baldwin and other producers misused his company's assets, violated security protocols and “conspired” to launch a “smear campaign” against his company.

Seth Kenny insisted that he loaned the guns and blanks for production “under strict rules and safety regulations and on the condition that [les producteurs] abide by and comply with local, state and federal laws,” but the team Rust he said would “violate the lease by permitting the loading, illegal concealment and unloading of a live round of ammunition.”

He claims he was unable to find work in the film industry after the shooting, causing his company to suffer “major financial losses” and “damage to its reputation within the film community and the public at large.”

In an interview given Diversityhe insisted that he carefully “checked” each dummy bullet to ensure it was a blank, and claimed that Hannah Gutierrez-Reid was responsible for the live bullets.

The gunsmith served a 14-month prison sentence for manslaughter for inserting a live bullet into a weapon and was released on parole in May. Alec Baldwin's murder trial was canceled mid-last year due to a cover-up of evidence.

Seth Kenny was a key prosecution witness in both trials. In 2022, he was sued by Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who accused him of using live ammunition, but those charges were dropped.

The arms supplier files a complaint for defamation, conversion, unjust enrichment and tortious interference. He is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.
