Alec Baldwin and brother Stephen crash car into tree in the Hamptons – National

Alec Baldwin he and his brother said Stephen Baldwin were involved in a collision after he crashed the car he was driving into a tree in Hampton on Monday.

In a video posted to Instagram, Alec, 67, said he was traveling with his brother and wife. Hilaria Baldwin Range Rover in East Hampton, New York, when a large garbage truck forced it off the road and into a “big fat tree.”

“I was in a car accident this morning. A guy cut me off in a truck, a big garbage truck the size of a whale,” Alec said in the video. “It must have been something commercial, hauling materials from a construction site. It was the biggest garbage truck I've ever seen.

“To avoid hitting him, I hit a tree. I hit a big, thick tree. It wrecked my wife's car… It's okay. I'm okay, and my brother is okay.”

30 Rock the actor thanked the East Hampton Police Department “for coming to my aid” and gave a special shout-out to an officer named Gerken, whom he called a “nice guy.”

“My wife's car is pretty much totaled. Big tree, big, fat tree,” Alec repeated before talking about how proud he was of his wife for competing. Dancing with Stars after her recent expulsion.

Hilaria also voiced her concerns following Alec's car accident and shared an update on Instagram with the caption: “Thanks for checking in. Alec is fine. Stay safe everyone.”

“Hey, I've been getting a lot of messages about Alec's accident today, the car accident, and I just want you to know that he's okay, Steven's okay, everything's okay,” she said. “No one was hurt, and that's the most important thing. So I love you and thank you, thank you, thank you for caring.”

Stephen's spokesman confirmed that he was closely monitoring the incident.

“Steven is doing well and is glad no one was hurt,” his rep said. Eh! News in a statement. “He appreciates the concern and can confirm that he and Alec are safe and healthy.”
