Alabama basketball up several spots in USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll

Alabama Crimson Tide opened SEC basketball game with victory statement over Kentucky Wildcats89-74, Saturday afternoon at Coleman Coliseum.

Led by Aden Holloway's 26 points, who set both career and season highs by making six of his eight shots from 3-point range, Alabama made 15 shots from behind the arc in a game that was never seriously in doubt.

The Crimson Tide led by 21 en route to their fourth straight win over Kentucky since last season. Labaron Philon scored 17 points for Alabama, which got 14 points from Houston Mallett. Tide 7-foot center Noah Williamson, an offseason transfer from Bucknell, scored 10 points in 18 minutes off the bench for Alabama.

The Tide beat Kentucky 41-37.

Alabama basketball schedule: When will the Crimson Tide next play?
