Aimbridge adds six-property hotel collection to portfolio

Hotel management company Aimbridge Hospitality has added a collection of six hotels in Mexico to its portfolio, supporting its growth strategy.

Aimbridge LATAM, the company's Latin America division, will oversee operations and reposition the properties owned by Alliance Hotel Management.

In 2026, all six hotels are planned to be rebranded as voco Hotels within the IHG Hotels & Resorts group.

The move brings the total number of Ambridge properties managed by voco to ten.

Three of the hotels are currently operating as Real Inn Cancún, Real Inn Guadalajara Expo and Real Inn Ciudad Juárez with 160, 163 and 150 rooms respectively.

These locations are undergoing renovations and are scheduled to reopen under the voco banner in April 2026.

The remaining three hotels, namely the 133-room Real Inn San Luis Potosí, the 120-room Real Inn Nuevo Laredo and the 124-room Real Inn Torreón, will close early next year and are expected to relaunch as voco hotels in October 2026.

The rebranding process will include investment in property upgrades, operational improvements and integration into IHG's global distribution and loyalty programs.

Aimbridge said the measures are aimed at improving productivity and bringing facilities up to international standards set by IHG.

Aimbridge chief executive Craig Smith said: “The ownership group approached us because they know what it takes to succeed in Mexico's high-end market and knew our operational experience would help them get the most out of their repositioning strategy.

“We will work with them at every stage of the repositioning, bringing these properties into IHG’s booking and loyalty network, aligning operations to achieve their desired goals, and ensuring that the guest experience reflects positively on the voco brand.”

According to Ambridge, Mexico is a fast-growing market. The country attracts more than 45 million foreign visitors every year.

The expansion aligns with Aimbridge’s wider portfolio growth plans in the region.

IHG Senior Vice President for Latin America and the Caribbean Paul Adan said: “We are pleased to continue the expansion of voco hotels in Mexico, one of our most strategically important and dynamic markets in Latin America.

“The addition of these six hotels reinforces IHG's long-term commitment to the country, and the partnership with Aimbridge, a globally recognized leader in hotel management, gives us complete confidence that these hotels will enhance the guest experience and set new standards of excellence in their markets.”
