AENIGMA wishlist right now
Today NEUROMANCE launched the Steam page for AENIGMA: The Light At The End Of The Tunnel Is A Train. The game is a Kafkaesque-style psychological thriller inspired by science fiction and built around the long-term conflict between humanity and silicon life forms. The story takes place back in the year 4XXX, where people survive inside huge underground structures, separated from the surface to avoid the spread of these evolving threats.
AENIGMA takes a layered approach to storytelling. His narrative moves through an alternate history, presented as a history within another. And sometimes within a third, creating a feeling of changing perspectives and shifting time frames. The structure is based on non-linear development, which allows players to observe events from different angles and piece them together.
The visual design focuses on rugged and awe-inspiring environments. Players can navigate interpretations of brutalist architecture, monumental sci-fi structures, surreal Kafkaesque worlds, and scenes created with a cinematic bent. It also features a large cast of over forty different characters.
The scale of the game extends to its locations and design. Over fifty areas and over two thousand rendered backgrounds are included. The soundtrack also follows a detailed approach. Each scene has its own composition, and the full collection consists of one hundred and two tracks, the leitmotifs of which set the tone for the main moments.
A playable demo of AENIGMA will be available on Steam in the first quarter of 2026. The game's trailer will appear during the winter V3 Expo. It promises to offer an early look at the atmosphere and direction of the project.
