The ensemble series originally debuted on FX back in May, with a second season set to air in 2026. The series stars Malik Elassal, Lucy Freier, Jack Innanen, Amita Rao and Owen Thiele and was created by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw.
“Ben and Rebecca are incredibly talented writers and have masterfully and hilariously captured the experiences of young people in today’s world,” said Kate Lambert, executive vice president of development at FX Entertainment. “The entire cast—Malik, Lucy, Jack, Amita and Owen—are exceptional in bringing it to life in a way that truly connects with its audience.”
The series' cast also shared news of the renewal in an announcement video, which can be seen below.
The show's official tagline states that the series “follows a group of twenty-somethings in New York who try to be good people, despite the fact that they are neither 'good' nor 'human' yet.” Samir (Elassal), Billy (Freier), Paul Baker (Innanen), Issa (Rao) and Anton (Thiele) are five friends living together in Samir's childhood home, where they share food, worries and, sometimes, dental brushes.”
In addition to writing and creating the series, Kronengold and Shaw are also executive producers on Grown Ups. Nick Kroll, Sarah Naftalis, Jonathan Krisel and Rob Rosell also serve as executive producers. FX Productions is a studio.
Kronengold and Shaw served as writers for two years on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, on which they were the youngest writers in the show's history. In November 2023, they also published Naked on a Trip: Stories of Blunders, a collection of comedic short stories, with HarperCollins.
