The 40-year-old man was taken into custody around 10 a.m. and remained in custody as of Sunday afternoon.
Peterson was also arrested in April after the NFL Draft — just hours after attending the Vikings' draft night festivities — when he blew a 0.14 BAC after getting pulled over in Richfield, Minnesota. Peterson was reported to be driving 83 mph in a 55 mph zone.
A true Hall of Fame running back, Peterson was named the NFL's Most Valuable Player in 2012 after rushing for over 2,000 yards. He made the Pro Bowl seven times during his 15-season career and ranks fifth on the league's all-time rushing yards list.

He was previously arrested for an argument with his wife in 2022, as well as separate child support and assault cases.
Earlier this year, Peterson also made headlines after being caught in poker fightt at the Houston Social Club. A viral video of a fight with Joe “Baby Joe” Castaneda later led to plans for a boxing match between the two.
