Actors Marlon Wayans and Sky P. Marshall announce the 2026 Golden Globe Award nominations at Monday's ceremony, which is currently ongoing.
The first nomination announced is for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Drama Series, and the nominees are Sterling K. Brown (Paradise), Diego Luna (Andor), Gary Oldman (Slow horses), Mark Ruffalo (Task), Adam Scott (Severance pay) and Noah Wyle (Pitt).
Among the 28 categories announced today will be a new award for best podcast. The addition of the new category will celebrate “diverse entertainment talent,” according to the Golden Globes, as part of their commitment to honor the full spectrum of entertainment.
The Golden Globes have come under scrutiny in recent years for a lack of diversity and ethical violations by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), the voting group formerly behind the awards. HFPA was closed in 2022 when the awards ceremony was sold to a new owner.and since then the awards ceremony has been trying to restore its reputation.
The upcoming awards show on January 11 will be the 83rd Golden Globe Awards and will be hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser. Glazer hosted the awards ceremony for the first time in 2025.
“Hosting this year's Golden Globes was, without a doubt, the most fun I've had in my career,” Glaser. according to a statement dated March. “I can’t wait to do it again, and this time in front of a team from White Lotuswho finally recognizes my talent and casts me in the fourth season as a Scandinavian Pilates instructor with a dark past.”
