Is it too much to ask to show some love to big blockbuster franchises these days? The Acolyte star Manny Jacinto certainly thinks so, which makes it even more frustrating that we'll never get to see his character Cybir show that side of him in the canceled Star Wars prequel series.
Talking to TV Insider About his time on the show, Jacinto expressed his admiration for “The Acolyte,” who dared to bring a little potential passion into the mix for a change. “I feel like a lot of the franchises we have right now are missing romance,” Jacinto explained. “There’s a lot of love and relationships missing. We have big fight scenes and origin stories for these characters and all that, but they don't really have relationships with other people. It's such a strange thing.”
“And that's why I loved the Kimira and Osha relationship because we were going back to relationships in this big world,” Jacinto explained. “I think we just need more of it. I think that's what made the characters and the story more compelling, as opposed to just big fight scenes, which I liked.”
“I’m always ready, and I would love to go back if they invited me,” Jacinto admitted. “It was a role of a lifetime, and I’m incredibly proud of what we did in The Acolyte and with Oshamir, that whole relationship.” Obviously, the Force did not disappear with this.
