The WNBA's collective bargaining agreement expires in a few days… and the Las Vegas Aces guard Jackie Young tells TMZ Sport that while there are still many problems to be solved, the biggest one involves the almighty dollar.
We spoke with Young this week just after the A's won their third championship in four seasons … and asked what the mindset of the players and the league was in working toward a new CBA.
Young said the “most important thing” for her and other players is simply that “we get what we deserve.”
“We're the best in the world,” she told us while working a ceremonial shift at Las Vegas Raising Cane's, “so we just give us what we deserve.”
Naturally, we asked what she thought about it. Although she said there are several ways to solve this problem… one of the main problems is the $$$.
“Obviously the pay is great,” she said. “But I think the most important thing is revenue share.”
“So once we get to a certain point, I think they'll be in a better position.”
Only time will tell if both sides can avoid a lockout. As you know… the players and the current commissioner, Katie EngelbertNot on the best terms right now. Minnesota Lynx Star Nafisa Collier even recently said W had “the worst management in the world.”
New CBA or not, Young and the Aces are still celebrating their latest WNBA title…and planning to take their parade through Sin City later Friday night.
