A$AP Rocky and Winona Ryder give us our first unexpected mashup of the year

Six days into the year, we've got our first surprise encounter featuring two celebrity collaborations you wouldn't expect: Winona Ryder and A$AP Rocky. She's starring with him in a new video he just shot for a track called “Punk Rocky,” and it suits them both – a provocative suburban setting for her playing his neighbor, and quirky and stylish for him, a direction he seems to be leaning more and more towards. Punk Rocky is preparing to release a full album, expected to be released next Friday.

But back to Winona and how she ended up here, seemingly by accident, but not really if you were following Rocky's interests. He's mentioned Tim Burton in almost every interview I've watched over the past year. The Nightmare Before Christmas it's his favorite movie, and Tim was working on the album cover for the upcoming movie. Don't be stupid. So it's really not difficult for Winona to appear on stage, considering that she is perhaps Tim Burton's most famous muse. And if Rocky idolizes Tim, naturally he'll feel the same way about Winona, just like we do.

This explains how he introduces her in this video – a whimsical red queen who appears when he needs her. With cookies and more dance moves. Winona Ryder and Rocky dancing together? I need more.

But also, we're now one step closer to a possible Winona-Rihanna moment. And I don't mean music, but just photography.

Speaking of Rihanna, she and Rocky spent New Year's in Barbados.

She was also seen hanging out with locals at a birthday party a couple of days ago. Can you believe 10^th anniversary Anti coming out at the end of this month? TEN YEARS! A whole decade has passed since this, her best album, was released. Where did it go? I had to check this three times because… ten years?!

I'm not asking the question that usually comes next. This woman had three children in four years, and all she does is cook!
