Looks like there were fireworks between Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry after all.
The former prime minister and pop star recently made their first public appearance as a couple after months of speculation about the nature of their relationship.
Neither Perry nor Trudeau have spoken publicly on the matter.
For context, earlier this year Perry and her longtime fiancé, actor Orlando Bloom, announced they were splitting after seven years. They have a daughter together.
Similarly, in the summer of 2023, Trudeau and Sophie Grégoire split after an 18-year relationship; they have three children. In March of this year, Trudeau resigned as leader of the Liberal Party and prime minister.
Here's what we've already seen from the new couple.
July 28
Trudeau and Perry were spotted together in Montreal.
Firstly, they went for a walk in Mount Royal Park with dog Perry. After that they had lunch together at the popular upscale restaurant Le Violon. They were later seen drinking at the trendy Taverne Atlantic bar, which Trudeau was known to frequent.
July 30
Two days later, Trudeau was spotted in the crowd at Perry's Montreal concert as part of the Lifetimes tour, along with his teenage daughter Ella-Grace. At one point, he was spotted singing along to Perry's hit. Fireworks.
October 11
A couple of months later Daily Mail published photos Trudeau and Perry aboard their yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara, California. In the photos, Perry is wearing a dark swimsuit, while Trudeau is wearing dark pants and no shirt. They share an intimate embrace.
October 13
During Perry's concert in London, the pop star brought a fan on stage, who then proposed to her. In response, she joked, hinting that recently she was no longer alone.
October 25
The couple were spotted holding hands as they left a cabaret show at Paris's Crazy Horse. In a video posted by TMZ, Trudeau, dressed in a dark jacket, T-shirt and trousers, helps Perry, who is wearing a long red dress, into the car before getting in himself.
Saturday night, Perry's 41st birthday, marked the first time they went out together in public.

Even Onion intervened in this story. When the news first broke over the summer, the satirical news outlet published The joke caption read, “Orlando Bloom spotted at dinner with Angela Merkel,” prompting a comment from Orlando Bloom himself, who simply wrote, “👏👏👏.”
Lately, onions published another read: “Katy Perry releases new single about Canadian production excellence.”
Elsewhere online, people were eager to join in, expressing everything from support for the couple to surprise at the combination to irritation at all the attention they're getting.

Another mailof @VeryBadLlama on X, said: “None of you are ready for the bilingual album she's releasing after Justin Trudeau tries to teach her Quebecois French.”
