A Test of Presidential Powers

Donald Trump is embroiled in conflict, facing new tests of his presidential powers and willingness to use military force. Participants in the discussion Washington Week with The Atlantic joined to discuss the conflict between Israel and Iran and how it is testing Trump's influence.

Iran probably doesn't want to drag the United States into a war, but Israel may have other incentives. Those, including some on the right, who don't want the Trump administration to be drawn into this conflict fear that Benjamin Netanyahu has “launched this broader attack that targets not only nuclear facilities but also military personnel and scientists, in part to try to make Iran's response larger in order to then bring in the US,” Tyler Pager. White House correspondent New York Times– said last night.

Joining guest moderator and staff writer on AtlanticAshley Parker to discuss this and more: Eugene Daniels, senior Washington correspondent and co-host Weekend on MSNBC; Tyler Pager, White House Correspondent New York Times; Matt Weiser, White House Bureau Chief Washington Post; and Nancy Youssef, National Security Correspondent Wall Street Journal.
