TexHoo ZHR, new mini pc built around AMD Ryzen processors entered the market with a mixture of ambition and uncertainty.
The device combines impressive workstation features a compact design and the surprise addition of a small LCD screen that displays system data in real time.
Despite its technical appeal, many wonder whether a name as unfamiliar as TexHoo can compete in a market dominated by well-established brands.
High-performance processors in a compact form
The mini PC is available in two configurations: one equipped with an octa-core AMD Ryzen 7 6800H processor, and the other with a six-core Ryzen 5 6600U processor.
Both processors Leverage AMD Zen 3+ technology and integrate Radeon 680M or 660M graphics based on RDNA2 architecture.
These characteristics place TexHoo ZHR among the more functional compact systems that can cope with 4K multimedia tasks, workloads and even moderate gaming.
The 6800H version in particular is aimed at users who expect workstation-like performance without the need for a traditional desktop computer.
This device has a unique design with a small LCD screen on the top panel for monitoring hardware performance or display settings.
While this feature may seem cosmetic, it provides quick visual information about system performance, something rarely found on compact PCs.
The case itself is minimalist but functional, with a dual-fan cooling system to manage the heat generated by the high-performance CPU and integrated GPU.
In terms of memory and storage, the device includes 16GB of LPDDR5 6400MHz RAM and supports dual M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSDs for a total capacity of up to 8TB.
This makes ZHR one of the most flexible small systems for users who require high-speed storage in a portable format.
For connectivity, the mini PC is equipped with two Gigabit Ethernet ports, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and a number of USB-A and USB-C connectors.
It also supports up to four 8K displays via two HDMI 2.0 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 and one USB-C port, which is an unusual feature for devices in this class.
The TexHoo ZHR mini PC costs around 277 euros (about 323 US dollars) and is available on AliExpress in version with LCD screen, but without internal memory. There is a discount with the code. ESCD20.
Despite its technical ambitions, TexHoo's lack of brand recognition raises concerns about long-term support, firmware updates and build quality.
