A flash poll conducted on social media on Saturday suggests that this scenario is the dream of many Quebecers as the final matchup between the Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers dawns.

“As a Quebecer and lifelong Expos fan, I can't hope for anything better than a final hit, ideally a home run, from our nation's Vladimir!” says Louis-Martin Hainault, a 53-year-old baseball fanatic and resident of Saint-Pascal in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region.

“It's a nice dream, but Vladdy's home run in the bottom of the ninth inning would blow the roof off the Rogers Center in Toronto,” suggested Charles Ouellet, 27, of Rimouski.

And it continued…

“Chain of Vladdy just like Montreal in 2018!” Cedric wished, referring to the prep match at Olympic Stadium during which the son of former Expos star Vladimir Guerrero played hero when he just turned 19 years old.

“One of my best baseball moments,” Christina said of that same memory.

Original script

Montreal's Stephane Laviolette, 45, also involves Guerrero Jr. in his dream scenario, but he shows great originality and an obvious love for various possible baseball situations, suggesting: “a Jays win after Vladdy's suicide in the bottom of the ninth inning and [Addison] Barger at third base scores and wins the World Series.”

What matters to many fans is that the Blue Jays will win this big baseball finale against the Dodgers, no matter what.

“I'm not looking, I'm even willing to cheer a game-tying strikeout from reliever Brandon Little in the 26th inning to end the game,” joked Marc Robitaille, an author, screenwriter and baseball enthusiast born in Quebec 68 years ago.

“Ernie Clement would definitely deserve to finish this dream scenario, he had a very good playoff run,” suggested Steve Villeneuve, a 45-year-old baseball fan from St. Therese.

Why not Bo Bichette?

Quebecers dream of Vladdybut all the scenes are imaginary.

“I choose Vladdy as my ideal scenario, but I have a feeling that he will [Bo] Bichette, Mr. Hainault finally explained. This could also be his last game in a Blue Jays uniform due to his contract.

All scenes are fictitious, with the possible exception of the Dodgers victory. However, the guests really have a chance of triumph.
