Powerplay: Patrik Laine, Ivan Demidov and Noah Dobson on the second wave

We have been waiting a long time for answers to our questions. This morning at Brossard, in practice, the Canadiens practiced their two Powerplay waves as well as two short waves. Here's what they came up with, courtesy of Patrick Gille.

Note that the club's first line was with Lane Hutson and Zachary Boldak on the first wave. Bolduc with Nick Suzuki's gang is probably the biggest surprise, but I like it. #GoodshotThis should mean the second wave is good… and the first wave is better to get some playtime. NoahDobson, Patrik Laine and Ivan Demidov, all first wave candidates, are in the second division. Brendan Gallagher and Kirby Dach are also in the second unit. Did we want to spread the force? Save snipers on different waves? Maybe.

In any case, we note that Patrik Laine won't play the most offensive players on his line (Jake Evans and Josh Anderson) and that he will be away from Suzuki and Hutson at Power game. Not optimal for him, you say? Not at all. But he has to earn some playing time…

The remaining eight skaters who will play tomorrow practiced at a numerical disadvantage. Jake Evans and Josh Anderson were with Mike Matheson (not yet playing Powerplay), and Kaiden Guhle.oliver Kapanen, Alex Newhook, Alexander-Carrier and Arber XHEKAJ were in the second wave.
