Former WNBA Star Liz Cambage has urged current players to find an additional source of income as the league and its union appear to be on a dramatic collision course in the upcoming offseason.
Cambage who left Los Angeles Sparks In 2022, after a career as a four-time All-Star, she joined Tomonfans and reportedly made more money from the subscription-based platform than she did playing professional basketball.

She said TMZ Sports In a recent interview, WNBA players should be focused on generating additional income so they can.
“You know the WNBA salary, it's not hard to make more money doing anything,” she said. “I feel women should make more money playing the sport they love. I think everyone should understand how they can… how I stand here on the hole.”
She offered advice to players who might be interested in following in her footsteps.

“Just be you. Stick to your personality,” she said. “I feel like back in the day there was no opportunity or space for women to be who they are, but now I feel like women are more girly or earning their sexuality and it's fun.”
The conversation around WNBA salaries was sparked when the 2024 rookie class led by Caitlin KlahrK, got into the league. Clarke was seemingly making more money from her endorsement than her rookie deal in the league, which was around $76,000.

Minnesota Lynx star Nafeisa Collier has since led an effort to bring attention to player wages. Last week, she called out WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert in her exit interview with reporters.
