Find your missing brother in Dead Format
Katanalevi and ORO Interactive The first public demonstration for their upcoming horror game Survival, Dead Format, which is now available on Steam, was released. This frightening experience invites players to explore two VHS ribbons, each of which serves the gate to the nightmare world inspired by Eras Classic Film. Each element of a dead format was made exclusively for the game, and all VHS personnel recorded and edited katanalevi to capture a distinctive texture and tone of each cinematic period.
Between traveling to the ribbons, players return to their apartment, a fragile sanctuary where they can recover, study the tips and gather together the alarming secret of the missing brother. This is a space for reflection and preparation, before plunging into horrors hiding in cassettes.
The demonstration introduces players with two different worlds. One of them directs the terrible atmosphere of the quiet horror of the 1930s, while the other relies on the grotesque horror of the 1980s, repeating the tension and visual style of films such as “Alien” and “Things”. When the players focus on these perverted areas, they will face hiding dangers, decide intricate puzzles and fight to survive the forces that go beyond understanding.
In order to note the release of the demonstration, Oro Interactive also released a new trailer, offering an idea of the tone, style and fear that awaits the full version of the dead format, which should arrive later in 2025. The demonstration reflects the stable beauty of analogue horror, mixing nostalgia with fear in feeling as familiar and deeply violating.
