First East Yorkshire endometriosis support centre to open

A charitable organization is to open the first center in the region to support women with endometriosis.

The condition causes tissue, similar to the uterine mucosa, grow in other places of the body, including ovaries, pelvis, bladder and intestines.

This can cause severe pain, fatigue, severe periods and can complicate pregnancy.

Helen Bruster, the co -founder of Hull and East Yorkshire Endo, said that the diagnosis could take years.

“This approximately affects every ten women and those who are appointed a woman at birth, but this is quite incorrectly understood in a diagnosed state,” she said.

“As a rule, the patient will probably be diagnosed with appendicitis or SRK first of all.”

M -Bruster said that people can wait up to eight years for a diagnosis, since the state requires laparoscopy, the procedure for surgery of the keyhole.

“We have many services who come to us, and they have a really good experience, really positive, and then we also have many that they had a negative experience,” she said.

The new center at Highlands Health Center in Brancholm, Hull, will offer a number of services.

It includes writing GPS letters and other medical workers, as well as help in access to benefits.

“We have not been trained from a medical point of view, so we do not prescribe medicine or something like that,” said Mr. Bherster.

“We just advise them about what is, what are their options.

“Because sometimes we force a lot of people to go through, and meetings of general practitioners, perhaps only 10 minutes, and they feel that they did not discuss everything with them, they have no answers that they need.”

The center will spend the open day on October 10. After that, people can order meetings with additional information about HEYENDO siteField
