The four-vehicle crash sent nine people to hospital, including the parents of the young victims.

The violent collision happened around 7:30 pm Monday on Highway 335, near Dagenais Boulevard, after a northbound vehicle lost control and crashed into three other vehicles in the north and southbound lanes.

Major says investigators met with the 40-year-old man involved in the collision and was considered a material witness in the case.

He was released on a promise to appear later as the Crown requested more information.
