I've spent more hours than I'd like to admit bouncing between wishlists, review builds, and half-baked save files, so when a sale listing actually stops me mid-scrolling, I pay attention. This batch does just that, mixing true classics with a few nice surprises that seem deliberately underpriced. I played most of them after release or close to it, and some of them still live in my head for free.

This day in games 🎂
In retro news, I use a Bob-omb to light a 26-candle cake baked for Super Smash Brothers. The N64 brawler that stole my heart at launch. I have vivid memories of introducing this multi-festival to my rotating crew of a dozen or so buddies who were already heavily addicted to the chaos of 4P Mario Kart, Golden EyeAnd WCW vs nWo row. Needless to say, this hooked us faster than Link's point-blank chain shot.
How could you not do this? It had a simple concept: have iconic Ninty characters beat the absolute snot out of each other through an easy-to-learn but deceptively deep combat system. This OG laid a strong foundation for the franchise with percentage damage, targeted attacks, shields, grabs, and awesome sub-weapons. Damn, I'm still thinking kicking idiots into orbit with Homerun, Bat remains one of the most satisfying experiences in all of video games.
