Kevin Kampl and RB Leipzig agreed to terminate the midfielder's contract early, with the agreement initially set to expire in the summer and end on January 31.
The Slovenian national team player has asked RB Leipzig to terminate his contract for “family reasons,” the Bundesliga confirmed.

“I will now focus on my family at home, as I have done in recent months,” Kampl said.
“I wouldn’t completely rule out the possibility of returning to the field at some point, although it seems completely unrealistic right now as I dedicate myself to spending time with those closest to me.”
RB Leipzig Managing Director for Sports Marcel Schäfer said:
“Kevin has made a huge contribution to the club during his time here. Over his many seasons at the club, he became one of the faces of RB Leipzig, a leader both on and off the pitch, and played a huge role in the club's greatest successes with his strong and reliable performances.
