Enjoy 16-bit aesthetics in Roguecraft DX
British developer and publisher Thalamus Digital Publishing Ltd. announced Roguecraft DX for the Commodore Amiga, MEGA65 and Nintendo Game Boy Color. The announcement was made in collaboration with Badger Punch Games, Rocketship Park and RetroCogs.
Roguecraft DX is an enhanced version of the award-winning Roguecraft for the Amiga. It originally released in August 2025 as an Evercade exclusive. This updated version adds new levels and room layouts, additional monsters, improved animations and achievements. There are also additional music tracks by Jogeir Liljedal. Following the overwhelming response to Roguecraft and Roguecraft DX, the teams decided to bring the game to more retro platforms.
“When we released Roguecraft in 2024, we had no idea that the game would become as popular as it was on the Amiga, much less the Evercade,” said Badger Punch Games co-founder Ricky Sickenger. He added that the MEGA65 and Game Boy Color versions were created based on the strengths of each system with the support of experienced partners.
“After the success of the original Roguecraft, I was eager to collaborate with Badger Punch Games to bring the franchise to as many gaming platforms as possible.” said Thalamus founder and CEO Andy Roberts, praising RetroCogs and Rocketship Park for their work on the new ports.
Roguecraft DX, scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2026, is a 3D isometric roguelike spanning fifteen levels, featuring three playable characters, dangerous enemies, traps, potions, and a 16-bit retro visual style with variations for Game Boy Color hardware. The team is planning further releases for additional retro systems, as well as PC and modern consoles.
Digital versions will launch on February 2, 2026 via thalamusdigital.itch.ioPre-orders for physical products will open on March 2, 2026. Thalamus online store.
