With municipal elections in just a few weeks, I cannot help but think about this song according to the one who goes, “I really want to know (who are you? Who, who, who, who?)”

This is what the Calgarians did not know in 2021, and it was exactly how we received the left ideologist for the mayor and mostly “progressive” advice, which in just four years caused significant damage.
Back back …
If you are interested in what the hell happened, let me tell you.
Firstly, the candidates were not honest with their cost sets. For example, Jyoti Gondek positioned itself as moderate during the elections, but soon, as soon as it is the mayor, its first work order was to declare an “emergency in the climate” – something that she never conducted the campaign.
At that time, voters were not clear to who is actually Gondek, because she was never forced to reveal their political beliefs to voters.

Result?
Four years in a row of failure. Who could forget its dividing climatic hysteria, the new Bondoggle arena, its catastrophic one -time charter, a painful increase in real estate tax, the protection of the police, calling the Canada Day “Rasist”, her refusal of the Jewish community of Calgary at the darkest hour or its terrible management of the branded basic failure and the extension of the water prohibition? Not to mention the absolute farce of a public hearing conducted on the general plan, and its rejection of plebiscite.

Another important problem in the elections in 2021 was too many candidates in one election ballot. For example, eight candidates worked in the parish 11, as a result of which the vote, as a result of which Courtney Penner adviser with voting – only 28% of the vote is a weak mandate. M -Penner continued to ignore the will of her parish, voting in favor of the general re -level and the Glenmore Landing project.

The note was also 27 candidates in the mayor’s vote, which allowed voters to confuse their choice. Many decided to just stay at home on the night in the elections. The turnout of the voters was gloomy 46%.
Finally, third -party advertisers and PAC (political actions), consisting of trade unions bosses, disguised as a good sensation association, sent millions of trade union contributions on the accounts of the campaign banks of their preferred progressive candidates.
Not wanting to see what was licking from this, I personally worked with the Alberta government to adopt the bill 20, which allowed the creation of municipal political parties (in Kalgary and Edmonton) and prescribed great transparency related to the financing of the campaign and donations.
When the candidate is successfully checked by their relevant political party, it becomes clear to voters where they are ideologically. And this also means that under the banner of this party for a package that helps to prevent this unpleasant split of the votes, I mentioned only one candidate. If the candidate works as independent, this may indicate fears in order to reveal their true values and beliefs.

Violet man
Remember, Nahid Nenshi advertised his purple personality for a decade, saying that he was somewhere in the middle between the liberal and the conservative. Now we know that he is a complete orange.
Hieromi Farcas, who was considered a candidate for the mayor of the conservative in 2021, has since made 180. He practically approved the NDP in the last provincial elections and was unclear in his views regarding the general renewal.
We just do not know who these people really are.
There are more and more reasons to look very carefully at the candidates. If their political inclinations are unclear, this most likely designed this in this way.
Wherever you get to the spectrum, I urge you to choose a candidate who is transparent and frank. There should be no surprises.
Take it from me or take it from someone who – but no matter what you do, Kalgary – do not fool around anymore.
Stefani Kusi – deputy of Kalgary Midnapur.
