Alleged Horizon “clone” disappears from Steam and Epic Store, as Sony and Tencent settle their legal tiff

Stop, great legal machines of the courtly plains. Legal fight between Sony and Tencent over alleged Horizon “clone” Motiram Light ended in a “confidential settlement.” As part of this arrow-throwing stop, Tencent appears to have packaged Light of Motiram and pulled it from PC stores.

This would seem to bring an end to a copyright dispute that began in July when Sony filed a lawsuit accusing Tencent's published tribal war machine game Light of Motiram of being a “slave clone” of their Horizon tribal war machine series. Tencent disputed this. filing a motion to dismiss the casewhat Sony presented big gun with the word “nonsense” written on it.

According to court document submitted this week and noticed EdgeBoth companies asked the courts to dismiss the case after reaching a settlement. Details of the settlement, as is often the case, were not disclosed, meaning there is no information on who paid or agreed to what before the big handshake.

There is one aspect that we see: Light of Motiram has disappeared from both Steam and the Epic Games Store. You won't find it on the list Here or Heredespite game website still pointing to these links. Meanwhile, SteamDB says the application has been deleted.

This is how the story of Shweta Motiram seems to end. Well, at least in the Horizon version, that's how it was until now. The two great machine titans behind these games can now rest, their fight ended peacefully. Sure, a ton of money and/or villages, depending on whether you want to stick with that metaphor, were most likely burned as a sacrifice to powerful beings living on a mountain of litigation, but at least it didn't drag on too long.

Hopefully this also won't lead to any negative consequences for the developers on the ground, who I imagine have had to sit back and watch this costly battle with bated breath.
