Repair work continues in Calgary, where Mayor Jeromy Farkas said the city is committed to fixing a troubled water main that has broken twice in a year and a half.
The City of Calgary will hold a technical briefing on Bearspaw on Thursday afternoon. water main rupturewhere subject matter experts will provide an overview of infrastructure and engineering considerations.
The briefing will take place at 14:00 local time.
Bearpaw The southern feeder ruptured Tuesday night, flooding the Trans-Canada Highway near Canada Olympic Park.
The drivers were trapped in the river with icy water, and 13 people out of eight cars had to be rescued.

Crews are currently working to repair the road, which has buckled in places near Sarcy Trail and the 16 Avenue Northwest/Trans Canada Highway interchange, closing the community of Bowness.
More than 3,000 homes and businesses in three areas near the fault – Montgomery, Parkdale and Point Mackay – are under a boil water advisory.

All city residents, as well as residents of the surrounding communities of Strathmore, Airdrie, Chestermere and Tsuchina Nation, are strongly encouraged to conserve water.
This includes limiting showers to three minutes, flushing toilets only when necessary, and only running dishwashers and washing machines when they are full.
The last time the line broke was in June 2024, leading to extended outages and water restrictions throughout the summer.
