Starting Wednesday at 7 p.m., transit through Toronto and routes in and out of the city will be free for New Year's Eve travelers.
Annual traditions from Metrolinx GO Transit and the Toronto Transit Commission's network of buses, subways and streetcars will mean that passengers will not be charged late-night fares.
TTS said it would stop charging at 7pm on December 31 and keep its services free until 8am on January 1, slightly extending subway service for overnight travelers.
The last subway from Union Station will depart at approximately 2:30 a.m., and the last trains on the Bloor-Danforth Line will depart from Kennedy and Kipling stations at approximately 2:15 a.m. The transit agency said buses will continue to operate throughout the night.

There will be no fares on buses and trams, and gates at metro stations will be open, meaning passengers won't have to press a button.
Below is a list of the latest subway train departure times according to the TTC.
- Line 1 Yong University: The last northbound train from Union Station departs at 2:31 a.m. for Finch and at 2:27 a.m. for Vaughan Metropolitan Center.
- Line 2 Bloor-Danforth: The last eastbound train from Kipling leaves at 2:15 a.m.; The last westbound train from Kennedy leaves at 2:18 am.
- Line 4 Sheppard: The last train leaves just after 3 am.
Free travel on GO trains and buses will also begin at 7 p.m., although you'll still have to click on and off.
Metrolinx said rides on its service, which occur significantly less often than the TTC at night, will also be free and there will be no listening fees until 8 a.m.

- Lakeshore West: The last train departs Union Station on Thursday, January 1 at 7:47 am.
- Lakeshore East: The last train departs Union Station on Thursday, January 1 at 7:20 am.
- Milton Line: The last train leaves Union Station on Thursday, January 1st at 2:55 am.
- Kitchener Line: The last train departs Union Station on Thursday, January 1 at 6:34 am.
- Richmond Hill Line: The last train departs Union Station on Thursday, January 1st at 1:15 am.
- Barry Line: The last train leaves Union Station on Thursday, January 1st at 3:54 am.
- Stouffville Line: The last train departs Union Station on Thursday, January 1st at 4:00 am.
- UP Express: The last train leaves Union Station at 3:45 am.
