Hollow Knight: Silksong sold over seven million copies within three months of its release.

The developer celebrated the occasion by announcing the game's “first major expansion” called Sea of ​​Sorrow.
The expansion, which will be available for free next year, includes new areas, bosses and tools in a naval setting.
Hollow Knight: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition was also announced, which will be released in 2026.
The update will include modes with higher frame rates, higher resolutions and improved graphics. It will be free for players who purchased the original Switch game.
Ahead of this release, Hollow Knight will receive an update for all current platforms, adding new features and fixing bugs.

Silksong's September 4 release broke multiple records at launch, becoming one of the biggest games of all time in terms of simultaneous play, according to SteamDB.

It was the most desired game of 2025 on Steamappeared on 4.5 million wishlists.
