Thank you Alex and Ryan for all the memories.
Conatus Creative Inc. has confirmed that River City Ransom: Underground has begun the process of removing the game from Steam. The removal was due to an expired license agreement, meaning the game will soon no longer be available for new purchases on the platform. However, it will remain in the library for those who already own the game and they will be able to download and enjoy it as before.
Here's the full announcement: “Hey everyone, we wanted to share a quick update. Due to the end of the license agreement, this game will be removed from sale on Steam. The delisting process is currently underway. If you already own the game, nothing will change – it will remain available in your Steam library and you can continue to download and play as normal. Thanks to everyone who has supported the game over the years. We truly appreciate it.”
River City Ransom: Underground is a modern take on the classic NES-era beat 'em up genre. The story takes place years after Alex and Ryan's first fight with Slick. The story sees the duo return to the streets of River City to confront a new kidnapping plot. Players explore a large city filled with hostile gangs, hidden secrets, and escalating chaos, earning money, unlocking techniques, and improving their characters through progression systems.
The game features over 500 different fighting techniques, a wide selection of weapons and a bonus arena mode. Online co-op and competitive arena battles support up to four players. The story campaign features ten playable heroes, each with a unique fighting style, spread across 140 levels filled with dangers, shops and secrets. Arena Battle mode also allows players to unlock up to 44 fighters, including heroes and villains from across the River City universe.
