Arsenal ensured they finished the year top of the Premier League after beating Aston Villa 4-1 at home in a powerful win on Tuesday.

Substitute Gabriel Jesus' fourth goal a minute after coming on highlighted the depth of Arsenal's bench this season, with manager Mikel Arteta jubilantly high-fiving his assistants at the final whistle.

The victory moved Arsenal five points clear of Manchester City, who play Sunderland on New Year's Day, and six points clear of third-placed Villa.

Elsewhere, Chelsea drew 2-2 at home to Bournemouth; Newcastle beat lowly Burnley 3-1; and Manchester United beat Wolverhampton at home with a score of 1:1.

Struggling West Ham drew 2-2 with visiting Brighton while Everton won 2-0 at Nottingham Forest.
