Jay Feeley, a former NFL kicker running for Congress in Arizona, was among those who weighed in on the much-criticized “Battle of the Sexes.” tennis match between Nick Kyrgios and Aryna Sabalenka.
In the match, Sabalenka had the advantage and leveled the playing field, since her half of the court was 10% smaller than her opponent. On Sunday, Feeley noted that men play women's sports.

“Please never believe the complete bullshit coming from ignorant liberals that allowing men to compete with women is not unfair to women,” he wrote on X in response to the match.
The name “Battle of the Sexes” was taken from the historic 1973 match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs. King won the match in four straight sets and helped launch the women's tour and push for equal pay in tennis.
The match did not seem to have the same effect on the fans.

Sabalenka and Kyrgios both defended the match which The Australian won in straight sets.
“I don't understand how people could find anything negative about this event,” she said. “I played great tennis. It was a spectacular match. He won the match, but I played great tennis… It was a great fight. It was interesting to watch.”
Kyrgios praised Sabalenka for holding her own on the court.

“There are only positives to take from this,” Kyrgios said, adding that Sabalenka is close to beating Roger Federer. Novak DjokovicRafael Nadal and Andy Murray in their careers. “I had to work for it. I had to sweat. I needed to play. I had to run. It wasn't easy. Nothing came easy. So let’s get that story out there and not all the negativity.”
