If there's a common theme at CES 2026, it's artificial intelligence, which will be woven into every product, conversation and prediction about the future of consumer electronics, but it won't be the only story at the world's biggest tech show.
If the recent past, when CES 2025 drew 142,4654 visitors and 4,500 exhibitors, is any indication, we expect this year's event, which will take place January 4-9 in Las Vegas, Nevada, to draw thousands of exhibitors and tens of thousands of visitors.
They will arrive at the convention center, which has been expanded in recent years and underwent another major upgrade last year during the event. This year we'll see the fruits of that labor and expanded passages that will hopefully help us all digest this monumental show.
The famous Orb will also play a role again. Last year there was A Spectacular Celebration of Delta's 100th Anniversary and innovative renewal. This year, Lenovo will take the stage to show off PC and mobile updates (via Motorola), followed by a performance from Gwen Stefani expected to follow.
As for what visitors will see during the main show. Well, let's leave it aside AI this and AI thatthere will be clusters around:
- Health and longevity
- Mobility and transport
- PC and chips
- Televisions and display technologies
- Smart home
- Food technology
- Entertainment
- Robotics
- Startups
- More AI
A combination of new and familiar
In some ways, this year's story is the same as dozens of previous ones. CES is a mix of consumer-facing, business-focused and even enterprise-focused products. It covers 4K And 8K The TVs you'll install in your home next year, the laptops you'll take to school, the LED mask you'll wear to look younger, the translation device you'll put on your face to appear smarter, and the exoskeleton you'll put on your body to go further.
While many of the products will be somewhat familiar from previous events, many will now be equipped with artificial intelligence to make them smarter and potentially more useful.
Wearable AI is set to become a big trend: AI, augmented reality glasses, and AI chatbots are likely to appear in other wearable device options.
A wide range of audio products will be presented from all major manufacturers in all the most recognizable form factors: from speakers and soundbars to on-ear headphones and earbuds. Yes, some of them will involve artificial intelligence and amazing collages may appear.
Health and life
CES has long focused on health, wellness and even beauty, but it's now codified around “longevity,” which is likely a response to the aging population, especially in the US.
Beyond anti-wrinkle masks and exoskeletons, it's unclear what products might make it here. Could there be some cognitive enhancement apps, or even robots that can ask you questions every day? May be.
Mobile technologies including tablets, laptops, e-readers and phones (though not from big names like Apple, SamsungAnd Google), should be flaunted with the latest mobile chips and amazing cameras. However, we expect to see a fair number of unusual form factors, including more foldable devices.
Likewise, while we expect more consumer and office laptops, CES is often a good place to see wild design fancies such as retractable or expandable screens and keyboards.
Larger TVs and larger equipment
Some hardware is getting big at CES. Really big: In the past we've had agricultural robots from Caterpillar and John Deere. But we also expect smaller work bots to emerge, such as pool cleaners, and of course, many robotic vacuum cleaners. We really hope that at least one of them can surpass last year's hand-toling Roborok Saros Z70.
TVs will get bigger and possibly brighter thanks to Micro RGB LEDs, and we'll see even clearer and more flexible displays, but there may not be any major TV upgrades and fewer TV makers will be talking about 8K—since there's still virtually no 8K content.
Speaking of content, Netflix won't be at the show and we're not expecting the same star power as in recent years. There may be too much uncertainty about these big media companies (who will eat whom) and how AI will impact the future of content and creativity.
Getting smarter
Smart home technology will be everywhere, although we expect most companies to talk about how their platforms are now equipped with artificial intelligence, or at least will work with mainstream platforms for easier integration and automation. Perhaps this year Matter will show us how it finally delivers on its promises.
There will be robots, including humanoids, although no one expects to see the breakout stars AI Figure 03 and X1's Neo Beta in 2025. Hyundai is expected to show off several mobile robots, while Unitree will once again show off its G1 and other robot upgrades.
Also expect countless startups with countless eye-opening and strange ideas in all major categories. Many of them will prove impractical or at least not market-ready, but they all point to the future, and that's why we're here, right?
