In Historic Move, Netanyahu Breaks With Tradition in Bestowing Quite the Honor on Trump – RedState

I think at this point it can't be denied that Donald Trump has put his name on the list of the top five most influential consistent American presidents of our time – and perhaps all of American history – are based only on actions taken in 2025 alone.

His policies regarding illegal immigration, such as mass deportations of criminal illegal immigrants, as well as his aggressive push end birthright citizenship once and for all (the Supreme Court will hear arguments for and against Trump's order on this issue) next spring), are unlike anything we have seen in modern history. And he's just getting started.

Another focus for President Trump in the first year of his second term was the peace deals he and his administration negotiated: eight agreements were agreed upon in eight months, including in the war between Israel and Hamas.

I think that, with the exception of the victims of TDS, few would argue with the assertion that the peace agreement between Israel and Hamas, which released the remaining hostages, is Trump's crowning achievement on the foreign policy front.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appears to agree with this sentiment, as evidenced by his announcement after meeting with Trump at Mar-a-Lago on Monday that our country's 47th president will become next recipient Israel Prizes:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country plans to present the Israel Prize to President Donald Trump, breaking with tradition of honoring a non-Israeli and marking the first time the annual prize will be presented to the president of another country.

Netanyahu announced Trump as the recipient of the Israel Prize, Israel's highest civilian honor for 72 years, shortly after the two leaders met at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.

[…]

“It is very appropriate and obviously we would be honored if you could visit Israel for this occasion,” Netanyahu said, speaking to reporters alongside Trump. “This reflects the overwhelming opinion of Israelis across the spectrum. They appreciate what you have done to help Israel and to help in our common fight against terrorists and those who want to destroy our civilization.”

Look:

As RedState previously reported, during the final cabinet meeting of the year in early December, Secretary of State Marco Rubio laid out how the deal would not have happened without Trump's “direct interaction with the leaders who were involved in the decision making”:

“He has succeeded in Gaza – and he does it not only because he hates war… but because he is the only leader in the world who can do it. No other leader in the world could have accomplished what happened in Gaza… This deal will not happen without the president's direct interaction with the leaders who were involved in the decision-making process. Peace Council. Every day is a challenge, but this is led directly by the president.”

However, the one peace deal that remains elusive to Trump is the one between Ukraine and Russia. after the meeting Speaking to Ukrainian President Vladimir at Mar-a-Lago on Sunday, Trump said “we could be very close” to ending the war soon. Making it a reality before the end of the year is something else, isn't it?
