Scott Jennings Calls Immigration Trump’s ‘Biggest Promise Fulfilled’ In 2025

Salem Radio Network host Scott Jennings told This Week guest host Jonathan Karl on Sunday that President Donald Trump's efforts to combat illegal immigration represent the “biggest” accomplishment of his 2025 campaign promise.

Trump released several executive orders to address illegal immigration on January 20, 2025, with certain orders designation The Venezuelan Tren de Aragua (TdA) prison gang, the El Salvadoran MS-13 prison gang, and the Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations also signed decree to prevent illegal immigrants from receiving welfare services months later. Jennings noted how many illegal immigrants have left the country since Trump took office. (RELATED: CNN host admits border is Donald Trump's 'accomplishment story')

“I think on immigration, this has been his biggest success this year, this is his biggest promise kept,” Jennings said after SCOTUS blog editor Sarah Isgur discussed the legal challenges posed by Trump's immigration enforcement efforts. “We had 2.5 million people deported: a significant portion of them were deported on their own; you know they used government ones [CBP One] app or simply decided to leave the country altogether.”

“When I talk to Republicans and Trump supporters across the country, they are more than enthusiastic about the aggressive nature of this policy,” Jennings continued. “You know, we haven't passed any new immigration laws since Donald Trump became president again. We're just enforcing the laws we have, which is something the previous administration didn't do. So, I know the left has treated this like some big controversy, but I don't know what's controversial about the president just simply enforcing the laws on the books.”

The Trump administration said in a Dec. 15 statement release that no illegal immigrants have been released into the United States for seven months straight, while the Biden administration has previously released hundreds of thousands, according to released US Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Department of Homeland Security announced The Dec. 10 report said more than 2.5 million undocumented immigrants have left the United States, of whom 1.9 million have chosen to self-deport through measures such as the CBP Home app.

“Illegal aliens are hearing our message to leave the country now,” Trisha McLaughlin, Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security for Public Affairs, said in a press release. “They know that if they don't do it, we will find them, arrest them, and they will never come back.”
