Primates – a group of mammals that includes humans – are found virtually everywhere on Earth, from equatorial rainforests to research stations in Antarctica. This extremely diverse order emerged before the dinosaurs went extinct and wild populations of non-human primates evolved to live in niches on three continents—Asia, Africa, and Central/South America.
Primates don't just live in many places; There are also hundreds of species and subspecies. In fact, the primate order is the fourth most biodiverse order of mammals in the animal kingdom, however, the majority (62.6%) of primates are classified as endangered.
