Super Bowl Champion Rob Gronkowski has made a bold prediction about Travis Kelce's NFL future as the Kansas City Chiefs star faces questions about his one-game retirement.

Kelsey may have played his last home game at Arrowhead Stadium on Thursday night as the Chiefs lost to the Denver Broncos. He made five catches but did not score in the game.

Gronkowski and the rest of the “FOX NFL Sunday” panel predicted what Kelce will do this offseason.

“I think he's going to test the market and he's going to have to compete for a championship and a Super Bowl if he comes back,” Gronkowski said. “I don’t think that’s going to happen with the Kansas City Chiefs.”

“This will be a bit of a rebuilding year. They may have the potential to do so. But he also has so many opportunities outside of playing football. His heart is in the place of, “Hey, what's my next venture?” or “Do I really like football?”

Kelce is in the final year of his contract and has broken every Chiefs receiving record during his 13-year career in Kansas City. The possibility of Kelce playing elsewhere hasn't really been mentioned in the rumors, but Gronkowski leaving the New England Patriots to play a few more seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was also a shock.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Howie Long also questioned what Kelce would return to if he decided to play another season with the Chiefs.

Kansas City will be constrained by the salary cap while Patrick Mahomes will be recovering from a devastating knee injury that ended his 2025 season.
