Best Buy Canada offering $35/100GB CAN/US plan with Bell, Rogers, Telus

If you're looking for a new wireless plan, Best Buy may be your best option.

The equipment seller is ads for 100GB data plan in Canada and US for $35 per month at Rogers, Bell and Telus on your website. Best Buy clarifies that customers can use this plan “in Canada and the US” and says it includes unlimited calling to Canada/US.

Unfortunately, that's all Best Buy's website says about this plan. Some people who got the plan posted on Reddit that it's only available for new activations and that existing vendors won't match it, meaning anyone who wants to take advantage of the offer will have to head to the nearest Best Buy and change vendors.

It's also unclear whether customers will have to pay the $80 connection fee charged by Rogers, Bell and Telus. (I'd say it's likely—as a former Best Buy employee, I remember not being able to waive the connection fee when I worked there. Things may have changed since then, though.) Either way, the $80 one-time fee is easier to stomach on a $35 per 100GB plan.

Overall, this seems like a good deal if you can get it. The plan is much cheaper than anything on the Big 3 carriers' websites and even beats Freedom, which has topped Boxing Week's sales so far with better wireless deals like the 40/100GB Canada/US/Mexico plan. By comparison, Rogers, Bell, and Telus charge $75 per month for a 100GB plan, so Best Buy's offer looks really good.

Speaking of other carriers, Best Buy's website also highlights the aforementioned Freedom Mobile deal, as well as other plans, including a 40/60GB Canada/US/Mexico offer at Fido, Koodo, and Virgin Plus (not offered on their respective websites) and a 75/200GB Canada/USA plan at Rogers, Bell, and Telus.

You can visit Best Buy to learn more (not much information out there anyway) or head to your local Best Buy to get a quote.
