Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis suffered a minor groin strain and is expected to miss several games, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania on Friday.
Davis, an important trade target, will be evaluated daily. The Mavericks have been careful with injuries this season, especially Davis, and will continue to do so.
The Mavs officially list Davis as questionable for Saturday's road game against the Mavs. Sacramento Kings due to soreness of the right adductor muscle.
Davis suffered the injury with 8:50 left in the second quarter of the Mavericks game. 126-116 Losing Christmas To Golden State Warriors. He stopped after trying to run to catch a forward pass and immediately limped to the bench asking for a substitution.
He was ruled out at halftime with right groin spasms.

Davis, who was recovering from an abdominal strain at the time of the trade, suffered a similar adductor strain during his debut in Dallas. This injury sidelined him for 18 games. He missed 14 games earlier this season with a sprained left calf.
The Mavericks are 8-8 with Davis in the lineup this season and 4-12 when he's not playing.
