How University of Michigan continues to deal with the fallout from the sacking of Sherron Moore, his replacement may have come under the spotlight.
Kyle Whittingham, who announced he would retire as Utah's head coach after 21 seasons following the bowl game on Dec. 31, has become the “focus of Michigan's coaching search.” according to ESPN.
Whittingham's nomination is expected to be presented to Michigan officials on Friday, and they could offer him a deal soon after.

After leading Utah to a 10-2 record, Whittingham compiled a career record of 177-88 during his twenty-year coaching career. Cliff. He even had a perfect 13-0 season in 2008 and is widely expected to one day be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia.
But when he announced he was retiring, he joked in a statement that he was entering the “transfer portal” rather than simply retiring from the sport.
The 66-year-old still wants to coach and is one of the hottest players in the market.
Moore was fired after Michigan discovered he was in an inappropriate relationship and was jailed soon after for allegedly breaking into an employee's home and threatening to kill himself.
Prosecutors accused Moore that he contacted the employee through phone calls and text messages after the breakup, prompting the woman to contact the University of Michigan and cooperate in the investigation. Moore was subsequently fired as head football coach, which prosecutors say prompted him to show up at her home.

Moore then allegedly “barged” into the house, grabbed a butter knife and kitchen scissors and began threatening his life. Prosecutors said Moore allegedly told the employee, “My blood is on your hands” and “You ruined my life.”
If convicted, Moore faces more than fifty years behind bars, further damaging any hopes he had of being on the sidelines again. His next court date is set for Jan. 22.
Moore was entered a not guilty plea during his initial court appearance earlier this month.

“The guys on the other side of the building 100 percent knew about it,” a former Michigan insider told the publication. “They can deny it all they want, but too much has happened. If you didn't know, you're an idiot. It was too obvious.”
Moore's lawyer, Ellen K. Michaels, told Fox News Digital she had no comment about the article.
