Denver Nuggets Got more bad injury news on Wednesday.

Forward Cam Johnson is out four to six weeks with a right knee injury. ESPN's Shams Charania. Johnson suffered a contusion to his right knee in the fourth quarter of the game against Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday.

Johnson is averaging 11.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists this season. He's shooting 46.1% from the field and 42.9% from three-point range.

This is Johnson's first season in Denver, who was acquired by the Nuggets this offseason. The Nuggets traded forward Michael Porter Jr. and a 2032 first-round draft pick to Brooklyn Nets for the veteran wing.

Johnson is the third Nuggets starter to go out in recent memory, including Aaron Gordon and Christian Braun. Gordon suffered a hamstring injury and has not played since November 21st. Brown played in just 11 games this season due to an ankle injury.

One player the Nuggets could turn to is forward Spencer Jones, whose role has already increased as of late. Jones, who has played more than 20 minutes in each of Denver's last three games, is averaging five points and 2.2 rebounds this season.

Head coach David Adelman could also use smaller lineups with Bruce Brown at forward.

Johnson was drafted Phoenix Suns in the 2019 NBA Draft. He spent four seasons in Phoenix and then played three seasons with the Nets. During his NBA career, he averaged 12.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and two assists.

The Nuggets (21-8) are third in the Western Conference, four games behind the top seed. Oklahoma City Thunder.
