EXCLUSIVE: Two-time Emmy Award nominee Matt Walsh (Vice President, Ghosts), Jonathan Lipnicki (Sarah's Butter, Jerry Maguire) And Geneva Carr (Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, Bull) have completed production in Oklahoma on writer/director Adam Seidel's second feature film, Williston.
The psychological thriller follows three landowners who come to Williston, North Dakota to stake their claim to the last remaining undeveloped plot of land owned by a Native American who harbors a deep hatred for the oil industry.
“I had the pleasure of working with Adam on his debut feature film. Anywhere“, and really wanted to collaborate with him again,” Lipnitsky said. “When he brought me Williston— a play he brilliantly adapted into film — it provided a rare opportunity to explore the moral ambiguity of three profoundly different personalities trapped in a gripping, contained arena. We couldn't have asked for more compelling performances than Geneva and Matt – they brought incredible depth and complexity to their roles. It's intense, disturbing and very difficult.”
The film is produced by Los Angeles-based Static Films' Steven Mastrocola and Rafi Jacobs, along with Jacob Ryan Snovel and Kyle Kauvika Harris.
Lipnicki is also an executive producer on the film. Buffalo 8 (Woman of the Hour, Bob Trevino likes it), along with Adam Harris Engelhard and Grady Craig.
Seidel is a Milwaukee-born playwright whose works include Catch the butcher (NYT Critics' Pick), WillistonAnd Original sound.
