I Hate the iPhone Alarm Slider. Here’s How I Got Rid of It

Alarms are annoying even to those who set them. And if you can't turn off your alarm quickly, you risk waking up others. When did Apple release iOS 26.1 in November the company made it a little more difficult to turn off your iPhones alarm with new slider.

Technical Tips

It looks like this change was made to prevent you from accidentally turning off the alarm too quickly with a single tap when you reach for your phone. But the slider might have you getting out of bed, wondering why your alarm won't go off even though you pressed the stop button like you've done a thousand times in the past, all while your newborn is now awake and crying, and your wife is awake and asking why the baby is crying.

Hypothetically, this is true.

Anyway, if you hate the Alarm slider like I do, you can remove it and get the Stop button back on your device in a few simple steps.

Once turned on, you can tap the button on the screen rather than using the slider to turn off the alarm. Turning this switch on does not currently affect other iPhone features, but this may change in the future.

If you want to get the alarm slider back after disabling it, follow the steps above and disable I prefer one-touch actions switch.
