The Montreal Canadiens visit the Bruins in Boston on Tuesday night.
Jacob Fowler was tasked with slowing the Bruins down and there were two skater changes.
Adam Engstrom made way for Jayden Struble and Phillip Danault played his first game for the Habs. Owen Beck was replaced by Dano.
Here's the Habs lineup for tonight's game.

True to form, the Habs and Bruins quickly set the tone for the game.
Tanner Jeannot and Josh Anderson got into a fight on the first face-off.
A few minutes later it was the turn of Arber Czekay and Nikita Zadorov to throw down the gloves.
The Canadiens-Bruins match is off to a good start.
And to cap off the pair of scrimmages, Samuel Blais scored his first goal in a Habs uniform from a tight angle.

You could say it was in the office of Cole Caufield, who had already scored several goals from that angle.
Moments later we saw Jacob Fowler make a great save to keep his team in the game.

However, before the end of the first period, Fowler missed twice (and they were not bad goals). The first goal was the result of poor defensive performance, and the second (scored on a power play) was a perfect shot off a beautiful pass from David Pastrnak.
After 20 minutes the score was 2:1 in favor of the Bruins.
At the start of the second twenty, Ivan Demidov managed to escape, taking advantage of the space in the center of the ice and preventing Jeremy Swayman.

However, in the same episode, Alexandre Texier left his team's dressing room after falling heavily on the board following a check.
We didn't know until the start of the third period that the Frenchman would not return to the game… Another tile fell on the Habs head…
Forward Alexandre Texier (upper body) will not return to action this evening.

Midway through the second, the Habs had committed four penalties, but fortunately the Bruins only converted once.
The Habs also had several power play opportunities, and Ivan Demidov was nowhere to be seen in the first wave…
The Bruins had hope of regaining the lead late in the second period, but the goal was ultimately disallowed due to goaltender obstruction.
After 40 minutes of play the score was 2:2.
However, the Habs did not give up in the third period, scoring no less than FOUR more unanswered goals in five minutes and 18 seconds (!!!).
First, Zachary Bolduc scored his 10th goal of the season.

Then it was Cole Caufield's turn in a five-on-three situation. The diminutive forward had several chances to score in the last few games and it eventually paid off as he scored his 18th goal of the season.
He put Swayman to sleep with several decks before spearing him through the goalie's legs.

Moments later, after the Bruins took another missed penalty to make the score another five-on-three, the captain deftly slotted the puck home.
This is Suzuki's 11th goal this season.

And finally, Juraj Slafkovski also scored his 11th goal of the season.
At the reception, he threaded the needle on a beautiful frame.

Lane Hutson had three assists in total for the game. That gives him a total of 13 assists in his last eight games. . Incredible baby.
The game ended 6-2 in favor of the Habs. A great win before the Christmas holidays.
The Habs' next game is Dec. 28 when Martin St. Louis' team visits the Tampa Bay Lightning at 5 p.m.
After a while
– In the first half of the game, the Habs were really not intimidating with their advantage in players. Luckily, they bounced back, scoring twice in the third period.
Just one scoring chance in 8 minutes of power play.
Not what you're looking for.

– Phillip Danault really wasn't effective in the faceoff circle, only 27% effective… The Habs targeted him for that facet of his game, which, among other things, is usually very good.
– The Habs have scored seven of a possible eight points in their last four games and 10 of a possible 14 points in their last seven games. This is a big help in climbing the Atlantic Division.
