Ilhan Omar “should be expelled from the United States” and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz “should be in jail,” according to Florida Rep. Randy Fine, who confirmed he is preparing a House resolution targeting the Somali native amid ongoing investigations and allegations into billions of dollars in Social Security and pandemic-era fraud in Minnesota.
On Sunday, Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) appeared on Newsmaxwhere he expressed support for President Donald Trump's recent remarks about Democratic “squad” member Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and outlined his plans to file formal lawsuits against her in the U.S. House of Representatives.
During a rally in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Donald Trump sharply criticized Omar, accusing her of fabricating stories and immigration fraud.
“Ilhan Omar should be expelled from our country,” Trump said. “She married her brother either to stay or to bring him into the country… She's a fraud. She's a total fraud.”
Responding to the remarks, Fine said he fully agreed with the president.
“I agree with the president 100%,” he said, describing Omar as “a walking example of everything that is wrong with our legal immigration policies.”
Fine said he believes Omar should not only be expelled from Congress, but expelled from the United States entirely.
“We imported tens of thousands of people who hate America, add no value to it, rob and steal from us, and we have to put up with it?” asked the Florida Republican. “I don't think Ilhan Omar should be expelled from Congress. I think she should be expelled from the United States.”
Fine said his decision to pass the resolution was prompted by an email from Omar calling for his expulsion.
“If I was going to try to eliminate her, it wouldn’t be a fundraising email,” he said. “She will deal with this in the US House of Representatives.”
The conversation centered on widespread allegations of fraud in Minnesota involving billions of dollars in pandemic-related welfare programs.
According to Fine, the scope of the alleged misconduct is rated to the tune of about $9 billion — “so widespread” and “so endemic” that it directly affects Democratic leadership at the state level, including Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
“This was not an unfortunate consequence. This was their plan,” Fine said. “Their plan is to bribe these people by giving them taxpayer money to destroy the country by bringing in people who hate us.”
Citing welfare participation data, the congressman added that “80% [Somali refugees] receive benefits,” concluding that “Waltz not only cannot be re-elected, he should be in prison.” Fine warned that similar scams could be rampant in other blue states, pointing to California and New York.
In response to a clip of Walz promising to fix the programs, Fine was blunt:
“It’s a bunch of garbage,” Fine said. “He was governor for almost eight years. This happened under his leadership.”
Fine also accused Democrats of deliberately increasing the number of immigrants in order to rig elections.
“Ilhan Omar is only in Congress because of these fraudulent Somali refugees,” he said. “Tim Walz only became governor because of these fraudulent Somali refugees.”
Fine concluded by saying, “We need to round them all up, send them home, and stop stealing from the American people,” while reiterating his commitment to pursuing legislative action in Congress.
The online reaction to Fine's remarks was swift and supportive.
“Excellent,” wrote Eric Dougherty of The Voice of Florida. “SEND HER PACKAGING!”
“Ilhan Omar should be deported!” wrote conservative commentator Gunther Eagleman.
“Representative Randy Fine just announced that he is working on what every American has wanted to hear… deporting Ilhan Omar.” wrote media personality Benny Johnson.
Earlier this month, White House border czar Tom Homan said The Trump administration is reviewing Omar's immigration history.
Supported by Trump Fine has built a national reputation around tough immigration controls, a position he has hardened in recent months after brutal attacks on National Guardsmen and renewed problems at the border.
Following last month's tragic ambush of two National Guardsmen in Washington, D.C. as a result in the death of Guardswoman Sarah Beckstrom, Fine called for “a complete halt to 'legal' immigration until our safety and prosperity are guaranteed.”
“This terrorist attack was led by an illegal immigrant Muslim terrorist who came under the Biden administration in 2021,” Fine said after the shooting. “We should be angry that the Democrats allowed these monsters into our country.”
In October Fine also discussed revoke the citizenship and deport then-New York State Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani, introduction Dual Loyalty Disqualification Act of 2025, a law prohibiting persons with foreign citizenship from serving in Congress. Fine said the bill reflects his belief that elected officials should be “America First” in both law and loyalty.
Omar, a member of the progressive “squad” in Congress, has repeatedly faced accusations of anti-Americanism and anti-Semitism, including past remarks accusing Israel of being an “apartheid regime” that has “hypnotized the world” by suggesting that pro-Israel politicians are “all about Benjamins.”
She also drew widespread criticism for referring the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, as the day “some people did something.”
In February 2023, then-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) confirmed why Omar was “unfit” to serve on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-Pa.) later exploded congressman after she equivalent USA and Israel with Hamas and Taliban terrorists.
“Omar is an anti-Semite who hates America and American troops,” he said. “She has no place in Congress.”
In contrast, then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) protected Omar told reporters in 2019 that while Omar had made some anti-Jewish remarks, she was not “deliberately anti-Semitic.”
In 2023, the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) accused Omar hates America “as much as he hates Israel.”
More recently, Omar stated Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations constituted “state-sanctioned violence.” Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons rejected Omar's viral claims that ICE agents stopped her son after a stop at Target, saying there was no record of the incident happening.
Earlier this month, during a speech at Breitbart News DailyHouse Majority Whip Tom Emmer described Omar as one of the most “two-faced crooks” he had encountered in public service. Senator Ted Cruz also weighed in: speaking that if the allegations about Omar's marriage history were true, she would be in violation of several state and federal laws.
President Trump repeatedly criticized Omar during the campaign. Earlier this month in Pennsylvania, Trump accused congresswoman who is “always complaining,” claiming that she is married to her brother and is in the United States illegally.
