Officers to close part of major road due to Operation Santa’s Sleigh

A portion of the main road will be closed for a special event in Montgomery County on Tuesday.

The Dayton Police Department wrote in a statement. post on social networks that State Route 4 southbound will be closed to traffic tonight from 7:45 to 8:30 p.m.

“This is part of Operation Santa's Sleigh, where public safety vehicles will have their hazard lights activated during a procession that will travel through many communities to help spread joy,” Dayton police said.

Several police agencies will also participate in Operation Santa's Sleigh.

Montgomery County Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Association posted on social networks that Light Ohio Blue is hosting the event. This will happen in nine different cities in Ohio.

It will travel through Dayton, Moraine, West Carrollton, Miamisburg, Miami Township, Centerville, Kettering and Oakwood.

The march will end at Dayton Children's Hospital on Highway 4.

The caravan will include more than 200 ambulances with their emergency lights on.
