When they return to Clan Metkayina, Jake gathers as many Na'vi as possible to fight and save his people and all the innocent Tulkuns. In the process, many are injured, and Jake and Neytiri's children – Loak, Kirk, Took (Trinity Jo-Lee Bliss) – and Spider take matters into their own hands.

During the fight, a pregnant Ronal (Kate Winslet) dies, but not before she gives birth and asks Neytiri to take care of her baby girl.

Kiri, with the help of Spider and Took, successfully forces Ava to help and fight against RDA. Other victims include Scoresby (Brendan Cowell), killed by Tulkun, and General Ardmore (Edie Falco).

Jake, having fought alongside the Great Leonopteryx, a dragon-like warrior, then engages in one-on-one battle with Quaritch on the floating islands. At some point, Spider finds himself in the center of their fight. He slips and is in danger of falling to his death. Quaritch tries to save him, but in doing so puts himself in danger – and Jake helps save them both. This meeting seems to bring them all to a truce.

When Neytiri, her children and Cirea (Bailey Bass) arrive to help defeat Quaritch, Jake tells them to stop. However, Quaritch jumps off the floating island and ends up in the hell below. It doesn't look like he'll survive it, but Avatar fans know that this guy has a thousand lives.

As the film comes to an end, one of the last scenes shows Kiri leading Spider to the spirit world, where they are reunited with Neteyam, as well as Dr. Grace Augustine (Weaver), Kiri's biological mother.
