“They’re Done with Me” │ Exclaim!

Steven Drozd says he is no longer with Flaming Lipsas a longtime member of the psych-rock band said, “They're done with me.”

Drozd has been absent from recent Flaming Lips concerts, leaving fans speculating about his status in the band. Yesterday (December 17th) a Threads user asked him: “Are you officially done with Flips?” In a long deleted comment (taken by Reddit user), he replied: “They're done with me, but we don't talk about it. So yes, I'm moving on. Just keep it to yourself for now. Fine?”

Another fan asked: “Have you been visited by Ivined?” due to the departure of Flaming Lips bassist Michael Ivins in 2021. Drozd replied: “We have to keep moving.”

On Instagram, Drozd posts videos showing him working on music. On December 11, he posted a clip of the psychedelic pop music, writing, “I'm trying to get Laetitia Sadier from @stereolabgroop to sing some vocals on this track. As you can hear, I tried to make her wonderful voice sound quite obvious. Laetitia, what do you think?

Drozd joined the Flaming Lips in 1991. He began as a drummer and later became a multi-instrumentalist, often cited as the primary composer of the Flaming Lips' music in subsequent decades. His last performance with the group was on October 9 last year.
