Be prepared for false alarm infiltration
Indie developer Scattered Discs has confirmed that False Alarm will be released on Steam next year and will be a tense 2D stealth adventure based on precise timing and quick decisions. The game challenges players to infiltrate secure locations, blend in undetected, and manipulate every system along the way. Careful planning rewards patience, but hesitation can quickly turn a clean operation into chaos.
In the game, players take on the role of an overly enthusiastic security professional who believes that risk assessments should be done on the spot. Instead of filing reports at your desk, you break into offices unannounced, bypass security measures, and make off with valuables to prove just how vulnerable these facilities really are. Each location transforms familiar workspaces into stealth, puzzle-filled arenas where observation matters as much as movement.
False alarms encourage methodical play. You slip through shadows, hide behind furniture, and monitor the actions of guards before executing your plan. Security systems become tools rather than obstacles, allowing you to change your patrol routes and discover new paths forward. Distractions play an important role, from turning off lights to limit visibility to luring guards with noise, open doors or even the smell of freshly brewed coffee.
The game thrives on control and coordination. Stringing together distractions allows you to direct enemies exactly where you want them to go while remaining invisible. Once discovered, escape becomes a priority. When subtlety disappears completely, improvisation takes over. Environmental hazards create opportunities for quick and confusing solutions, whether it's slippery floors, faulty equipment or dangerous chemicals.
False Alarm combines stealth, strategy and dark humor with a focused experience where every action counts, and sometimes the most careful assessment ends with a crowbar flying across the room.
