It's officially Christmas week and Boxing Day deals are coming in fast.with many of our favorite technologies getting the same (and sometimes better) discounts than Black Friday just last month. One of the deals I spotted today is the still brand new Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+, which has already received a generous 44% off for Boxing Day.
This budget Android tablet was announced just about a month ago and is the successor to the well-received Galaxy Tab A9+with a new MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, 6GB of RAM (up from 4GB), 25W fast charging (up from 15W), and storage options starting at 128GB (up from the A9+'s base 64GB). While it's still a step up from the Galaxy Tab S series, an Android tablet with these specs for under AU$300 is hard to pass up.
The A9+ launched in Australia in October 2023, so the A11+'s spec jump isn't surprising. What struck me was the longer software support: from 4 years for the A9+ to 7 years for the A11+. Although the design of both tablets is similar, the A11+ has an IP52 rating against dust and light splashes, while the A9+ did not have an IP rating.
The A11+ retains the 11-inch TFT display and 90Hz refresh rate, but the screen brightness is increased from 400 nits to 480. The tablet also retains the 7040 mAh battery.
The Tab A11+ also adds some Samsung Galaxy AI features that were previously reserved for the Tab S series, including a search circle, solving math equations in Samsung Notes, and Google Gemini integration.
Like the A9+, this tablet is better suited for media consumption and daily browsing, plus apps like Google Docs or Microsoft Office will also work fantastically well. However, if you are looking for something in the field of art and design, you will have to look elsewhere. However, this tablet is still much cheaper than any iPad on sale here in Australia, and you're getting great value at AU$297.
