ARLINGTON, Texas — Chargers won on Sunday and now they are waiting.
After them victory with a score of 34-17 By beating the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, the Chargers can secure a postseason berth with a loss or tie against Houston or Indianapolis.
The Texans will host Las Vegas in Game 2 and the Colts will host San Francisco on Monday night.
It was the seventh win in eight games for the Chargers, who are riding a season-high four-game winning streak. Sunday marked the third time they reached 30 points this season.
Chargers Quarterback Justin Herbert turned in another tough game, scoring two touchdowns and going over the goal line on the third.
Herbert's key play came on third-and-7 early in the fourth quarter, when he held the ball and ran 34 yards. At the end of the run, his surgically repaired left arm collided with the helmet of a Cowboys player. The defender writhed on the lawn for some time, but did not leave the game.
Late in the game as a newbie Omarion Hampton ran for a touchdown, Herbert joined him in the end zone and exchanged high fives with teammates while trying to protect his left arm.
Although the Cowboys entered Sunday's game eliminated from postseason contention, they still had the No. 1 offense in the NFL and a potent passing attack led by Dak Prescott. He effectively shut down the Chargers defense in the first half, throwing touchdown passes in the first and second quarters.
The Chargers finish the regular season with a home game Saturday against Houston and the finale at Denver.
